Ok, now THIS is a dilemma. Two versions of the same magnificent figure released at together. Is Max Factory conspiring to drive otakus bankrupt? Both sculpts of Miki are absolutely gorgeous and I'm not quite sure which one should i get, mind you figures are not cheap to start with. I prefer the version of her in the blue dress with shorter hair but i also like the nekomimi accessory that comes with the other one.

I'm in despair!! Abundance of great figures have left my wallet in despair!!!

Figma: Kyon and Nanoha

Well feth me. It seems that Max Factory is going all out too beat Kaiyodo in the articulated figures market with their latest line up of figmas.

Planned for release in May 2008 are Kyon and Nanoha. Pre-orders starting 28th of march.

Needs more Kyonko.

This version of Nanoha is from A's i presume?

I dont think i would be getting Kyon though because of my phobia of male figures. Quite sure that i would be getting Nanoha though. It is also a possibility that we will see a Fate figma later on but that is just speculation at this moment.

Wonfest 2008: Wishlist

Just a short pic post about my Wonfest 2008 wishlist. Currently mustering the financial power to make most of it come true. ie, asking for allowance raises, working part time(possibly), scrooging, skipping meals, etc.

I think ill focus more on the Figmas and Revoltechs. Master Chief is way too expensive and Erika is a limited Edition piece. T-T

ACF(Anime Comic Fair) 2008: A brief coverage.

This would be the second con(can it be called such?) i attended this year. The first one being the MAGe Festa in Nilai. The location for the event was better this time as it was located in Berjaya Times Square right smack in the middle of Kuala Lumpur and i expected attendance and the cosplayers to be of better quality. The guys of The Figure Mall also had a figure exhibit on both days of the event. Too bad i could only attend today and i couldn't stay for long as well so don't expect too much detail from me.

I arrived at the scene at about 11.30 a.m. didnt look too lively so i decided to come back later.

The main attraction of the day for me was The Figure Mall's display because it gives me the chance to shoot figures i don't own but am interested in nonetheless. It was also great practice for a fledgling photographer such as myself.

The cosplay scene was rather dead though with quite a few familiar faces and costumes that were recycled from MAGe Festa. Guess there just arent that many cosplayers around these days.(i dearly wish i am wrong about this)

More doujin booth present this time around and the event itself was definitely commercialized with retailers setting up anime , computer games , and cosplay booth.(i spotted a Haruhi school uniform but didn't dare try it on.

PROS AND CONS OF THE EVENT

PROS
1. Good Location
2. Music wasnt too loud
3. Better turnout than the last event.
4. Met fellow Otakus. (hope to see more of you all next time)

CONS
1. Cosplayers fail to impress me much. (too much Naruto. For heaven's sake try some other themes please)
2. The location looked a little too dull for me.
3. Turnout wasn't as large as i expected.

CONCLUSION
An interesting outing but not really what i had expected.

Things people do to figures. =_="

Ok, so we have seen figures in ovens courtesy of melonpan@meidocafe. (which was done in a safe controlled environment.)

But surely one should not even think about putting figures in a CPU like what some deranged madman has done below. Surely there are serious risks involved such as electric currents and not to mention the heat given off by the CPU which would melt a figure.(I guess)

This is just taking it too far.

Figure Review 3:Saber Maid version (Good Smile Company)

Sorry it took me so long to come up with this review even though i got this figure quite some time ago.(Blame crappy weather and thank the arrival of my new camera.) Actually I did a shoot for Saber with my Fe-280 but I decided to re shoot when I got my hands on the D40X. So here you go mate, my own take on Saber. God save the king !!!!.(if you watched Fate Stay Night you would know what I mean)

The setting for the shoot. My room, near the windows so i could get some natural light.

A bit of experimenting resulted in a rather interesting shot with a shadow on a white background.(maybe I should try that with the other figures.)
